Overview

Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry (PCMD) was a joint venture between the University of Exeter and the University of Plymouth, with campuses located in Plymouth and Exeter, United Kingdom. Established in 2000, PCMD offered programs such as the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Medical Sciences, and postgraduate programs in dentistry and medical specialties. It was accredited by the General Medical Council (GMC) in the UK and recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS). Additionally, it was recognized by international bodies such as the Medical Council of India (MCI), ECFMG (USA), and GMC (UK). PCMD ceased to exist as a separate entity in 2013, and its programs were integrated into the respective medical schools of the University of Exeter and the University of Plymouth.

Application Requirements

Prospective students had to meet the following requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent with strong grades in science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
– Proficiency in English (TOEFL or IELTS for non-native speakers).
– Submission of academic transcripts, a personal statement, and letters of recommendation.
– UCAT (University Clinical Aptitude Test) or BMAT (BioMedical Admissions Test) scores.
– Interview (depending on the program).
