Overview

The Rajarata University of Sri Lanka Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences is located in Saliyapura, Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Established in 1996, the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Sciences began its medical program in 2007. It offers a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing), Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm), Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (BSc MLS), Master’s programs in health sciences (e.g., Master in Public Health, Master in Medical Sciences), and PhD programs in health sciences. It is accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Sri Lanka and recognized by the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) and the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS).

The faculty enrolls approximately 1,500-2,000 students across all programs. Tuition fees are structured as follows:
– MBBS: Approximately LKR 1,000,000-1,500,000 per year (for local students); USD 10,000-15,000 per year (for international students).
– BSc Nursing: Approximately LKR 200,000-300,000 per year (for local students); USD 2,000-3,000 per year (for international students).
– BPharm: Approximately LKR 200,000-300,000 per year (for local students); USD 2,000-3,000 per year (for international students).

Application Requirements

Prospective students must meet the following requirements:
– GCE Advanced Level (A/L) qualifications with strong performance in science subjects (biology, chemistry, physics).
– Proficiency in English (language test scores may be required for non-native speakers).
– Submission of academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.
– Entrance examination or interview (depending on the program).
