July 2015 Determination: Initial Provisional Accreditation Withdrawn The CAAM-HP at its meeting held July 23-25, 2015 considered and accepted the reviewer’s report of the visit on June 26, 2015. Reviewer: Professor Joseph Branday Decision: CAAM-HP decided that given the lack of sufficient progress and readiness to accept the first cohort of students, Initial Provisional Accreditation be withdrawn and recommended that the school re-apply for accreditation in two (2) years, in 2017.
June 2012 Determination: Initial Provisional Accreditation Vanguard University School of Medicine is a new school to be established on the island of Montserrat. A site visit was made by external reviewers, Professor Renn Holness and Dr Rhonda SealeyThomas on October 7, 2011 to determine the suitability of the proposed site for development as a medical school. CAAM-HP at its meeting held June 22-23, 2012 received and considered the reviewers’ report. The meeting accorded initial provisional accreditation subject to monitoring through a site visit to determine the readiness of the facilities to accept the charter class. Further monitoring on an annual basis will be carried out through reports and site visits. Vanguard University is expected to provide CAAM-HP with evidence of concrete arrangements for the clinical programme by May 2013.
